Environmental Portrait
My Personal Favourites
In photography today, Nico Froehlich, a professional photographer, visited and shared his work of south east London. He is working on one of his personal projects called 'South of the River' where he goes all around south east London and take pictures. Our goal was to take environmental portraits. These are my favourites because of the composition and how the people look neutral, not overdoing their poses.

After looking at Nico's Instagram, I have chosen these three pictures and these are the reasons why each one is my favourite.
1 . This one has made it to one of my favourites because I really like how the word 'CATFORD' is reflected onto the puddle. I also really like how the two poles on either side of the art is acting like a frame; the lighting here also just brings the picture to life.
2 . In this image, I think that the main focus/colour scheme is on red. First looking at this picture, your eyes are straight away drawn to the mother and child in the middle with the mother wearing mostly red. When you look closer, the stroller is red and in the background there is a red door, matching with the red colour scheme.
3 . This one is personally one of my favourites, because of how the lights are out of focus or blurred but still clear enough to see because of the bright vibrant colours, for example the bright red 'CHEMIST' sign. Still looking at the picture, there is someone crossing the street but this person acts like a walking shadow because of the darkness.
